Finding a smarter way of working is a shared ambition across all sectors – whether it’s construction, engineering, capital works, local government, asset protection, or utilities. For decades, jobs like managing public works programs and responding to Before You Dig enquiries have relied on labour-intensive, only marginally digitised workflows – to guide budget, planning and resourcing decisions.
And while the workflows underpinning these programs were very familiar to all involved, so too were the instances where newly laid roads or footpaths would need to be dug up to allow for the installation of upgraded underground infrastructure. This unnecessary waste of time, resources and public funds – coupled with a pervasive desire to ‘do better’ – was the driving force behind the development of SmarterWX.
The release of SmarterWX brought to life what planners, project managers, engineers and asset owners had been seeking for decades; a way to automate common workflows, securely share data, and identify critical points of common interest. SmarterWX did for the construction, engineering, local government and utilities sectors what ATMs did for the banking sector – it made ‘digital transformation’ both accessible and affordable.
The extension of the SmarterWX suite has been largely customer driven.
At the heart of the SmarterWX product roadmap is a highly-collaborative, intensely ‘client-centric’ focus.
It is an R&D model that gives those who use the applications a clear say in ‘where to next’. Share R&D ideas »
